Revd. Dr. Michael Twum-Darko has spent twenty-three (23) years as a Computer Science Lecturer, Project Management, Software Development consultancy and ICT Executive in Ghana, Botswana and South Africa. While in Botswana, he was a member of the IT advisory Board from 1990 to 1994 to advise the Presidency on issues relating to ICT strategy and its impact on national development. In South Africa, he worked as a project management consultant for SA Top Data/Faritec in the City of Cape Town, Sanlam, and SARS before joining Safmarine Computer services as Application Development Director and later IBM SA. Dr Michael is currently the CIO of Companies and Intellectual Property Registration Office (CIPRO). He was ordained a Priest in 1999 in the Anglican Church in South Africa after three years part-time seminary and theological education.

Greg has over 30 years experience in the IT industry. In his varied career he has worked in many different roles - including application developer, architect/designer, and project management and as a consultant. The last ten years, Greg has operated mainly at the senior executive level as CIO or IT Executive. Currently, Greg is the Head of Application Development at Sanlam Personal Finance where he leads a division of over 270 people. Greg has a BCom Honours in Information Systems from UCT. His areas of focus and interest are: IT Leadership, IT-Business alignment, Enterprise Architecture and Organizational Change.

Ronnie Schmitz started my career in 1979 with the SAPT where he completed his technical training through the Natal Technikon and the Post Office College and was posted from Durban to Cape Town to work in the recently established Saponet division which was run by Alan Knott-Craig at the time. During this time an opportunity arose with Mobil (became Engen) to help run the network infrastructure. In 2001 he took an opportunity to work with DD in New York and arrived there 6 weeks before 9/11 happened and saw the world change, but had opportunity to work with almost all of the Fortune 100 companies based in New York. He returned to Cape Town in 2003 and after a brief time with Square One Solutions he started his own business at the end of 2004. BIAMIC’s primary objective is to help companies improve productivity and profitability through consulting, project services and business solutions.

Peter has successfully taken White Wall Web from its position as a start-up venture to an established business with 3 offices in 2 countries, servicing large multi-national and international clients (such as RE/MAX, Louis Group & Schwartzkopf) across various industries. Peter is a thought leader on the subject of Software as a Service and is the author of the blog/e-book SaaSPert (www.saaspert.com). Understanding Organisational Innovation as a Social Process Enabled by Technology

Dr Kosheek Sewchurran

Dr Kosheek Sewchurran is a Senior Lecturer in the department of Information Systems at the University of Cape Town. Prior to academia he was a systems engineer who functioned in various technical, management and leadership roles on large industrial expansion and automation projects.  He performed a number of roles which included: software developer, enterprise architect, business analyst, project manager, programme manager and planning specialist. Dr Sewchurran has a BSc with majors in Software Engineering and Operations Research from UNISA; BSc Hons in Computer Science; and MSc in IT from University of Natal. He graduated with a PhD from the UCT, his thesis was titled “Toward a regional ontology for Information Systems project management”.

Dr. Grafton A Whyte, BA(HONS) MBA PhD, is Operations & Finance Director for Zimele Technologies (PTY) Ltd. Dr. Whyte has worked for Zimele since relocating to South Africa in 2007. He has also worked as a research consultant and business analyst in the IT industry for over fifteen years.  In 1995 he obtained his PhD at Cranfield. The application of a qualitative research method, Repertory Grid was the subject of a published article. His expertise in demonstrating the business benefits in measuring and managing customer perceptions of service led to the development of the Service Metrics Facility (SMF) customer survey method. SMF has been successfully introduced within major blue chip companies such as AXA, Barclays, Centrica and Lloyd’s Register. Currently he is Extraordinary Senior Lecturer in Information Systems and Knowledge Management at the University of the Western Cape.

Mr. Benay has close to nine years federal government experience in the Information Management (IM) domain.  From managing enterprise implementations of IM systems to implementing policy programs, he has a wide range of IM knowledge and practical experience.  He was employed with various departments such as Library and Archives Canada, Natural Resources Canada, the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade and lastly the Canadian International Development Agency as Director, Information Management where he led the charge for a federal government ECM 2.0 visioning exercise.  Mr. Benay has joined the private sector working for small firms in setting up their ECM practice and joined Open text responsible for delivery a team of Enterprise Customer Enablement, where he is accountable for enterprise deployments, professional services, support and solutions development for the Canadian Public Sector.
