Events   |    The Future Charter 18 August 2011

The Future Charter

The CIO Forum is hosting an hour and half round table conversation. The aim of which is to bring together a group of emerging young leaders to build common future goals. The discussion is aimed at issues that concern those in their 20s and 30s. The issues are broader than Information Technology and we welcome graduates from universities in the Cape who want to build a future charter. We will look at how technology and other factors such as education are affecting poverty and job creation.

The Future Charter will be a large graphic poster that contains the issues transcribed from the conversations. We will be asking those who participate to sign it and will be using it as part of wider tour across the country to get young professionals to add their views and thoughts.

We are inviting young IT professionals and graduates of information systems, information technology, computer science, software engineering and computer engineering to discuss the future of the IT profession in South Africa. We are compiling a manifesto called "The Future Charter" to express the voice of young IT professionals interested in issues such as transformation, skills, job opportunities, leadership, qualification and economic growth. We would like to hear the voice of those who have entered the market in recent years to hear their experiences and views. This event is open to all those interested in the state of the region, industry, youth development and who aspire to become future leaders.

CONNECTING PEOPLE THROUGH SOCIAL NETWORKS - JOIN US
The forum is open to Chief Information Officers (CIOs), Academics, Professionals, Industry, Corporates, Government, Graduates, Students and other stakeholders.
The forum provides CIOs with insight into the academic program, research and initiatives being undertaken by participating universities. It also enables academics to share, learn and engage with key decision makers in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector.
Our desire is to connect people and breakdown barriers. We build relationships with those who are active on the ground and passionate about making a difference. The online forum and events are managed through social networks. Social networks avoid bureaucracies, remove impediments and build bridges that connect individuals directly.
